BEEF GOULASH | |
2 lb. sirloin tip, cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes 6 oz. wide noodles 1-2 tbsp. poppy seeds 1 tbsp. flour 2 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. cooking oil 1 1/2 tsp. fine herbs 1 clove garlic, minced 1 lb. can tomatoes (2 c.) 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce, seasoned (1 c.) 1 tbsp. paprika 1 1/2 tsp. salt (optional) 1 c. chopped onion Brown meat in oil in Dutch oven or large pan. Add onion and cook until tender, but not brown. Stir in flour, then remaining ingredients except noodles, poppy seeds and butter. Simmer covered 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until meat is tender. Serve with poppy seed noodles. Cook 6 ounce noodles according to package directions; drain. Add poppy seeds and butter. Serves 4-6. |
