HOME BAKED PINTO BEANS 
2 c. pinto beans
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. boiling water
1 sm. onion
1/2 lb. bacon
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. molasses
1 can tomato soup
1 tbsp. mustard
1/2 c. catsup
Salt & pepper

Soak beans overnight. Slow boil 15 minutes. Add soda and boil 10 minutes. Drain and rinse. Add salt and water. In baking dish slice onion. Add bacon in small pieces (fried). Add rest of ingredients and bake several hours in slow oven, 250 degrees, until beans are soft, but still firm. May add hot water during baking if they get too dry. You may also use tomato juice in recipe.
