PRETZEL SALAD - DESSERT 
2 2/3 c. pretzels, nearly pulverized
1/4 c. sugar
1 stick melted butter
8 oz. softened cream cheese
1 c. sugar
8 oz. Cool Whip
1 lg. box strawberry (or raspberry) Jello
2 c. boiling water
16 oz. pkg. frozen strawberries (or raspberries), defrosted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix pretzels, 1/4 cup sugar and melted butter and spread out in 8 x 12 inch Pyrex casserole pan and bake 10 minutes, then cool. Thoroughly cream softened cream cheese and sugar. Beat in Cool Whip. Spread over cooled pretzel crust and chill. Add boiling water to Jello to dissolve, then chill until it begins to thicken. Stir in defrosted berries and pour over cheese layer and chill until firm.
