PEANUT BUTTER CRINKLES 
1 c. butter
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Sugar, nuts, chocolate kisses, jam or jelly

In bowl with mixer at medium speed beat first 6 ingredients until fluffy. At low speed beat in next 4 ingredients. Shape in 1 inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes or until browned. Immediately press nuts or candies into cookies, or press with thumb and fill with jam. Cool, store in airtight container. Makes 6 dozen.
