MOM'S CHERRY PUDDING 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts
1 can tart cherries, drained

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Mix well. Add salt. Mix soda and cherries and add to mixture. Add flour and mix just enough to mix flour in well. Add nuts. Bake in a rectangular baking pan at 375 degrees until well done in center (35 minutes approximately or longer).

Grease and flour baking pan.

Serve with whipped cream.
