FRUIT AND NUT BARS | |
1 c. sugar 1 c. molasses 1 c. shortening 2 eggs 2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. ginger 1 c. raisins 1 c. candied fruit 1 c. walnut pieces 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 c. flour Mix together well sugar, molasses, shortening, eggs, salt, soda, ginger, raisins, candied fruit, walnuts, vanilla, and flour. Divide dough into 6 equal parts. Roll into strips about 16 inches long. Place on well greased and floured cookie sheets. Flatten strips and bake at 350 degrees for about 18 minutes. Cut into cookies, 1 1/2 to 2 inches wide. |
