2 sticks butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. self rising flour

Mix altogether. Make into a roll. Wrap in wax paper. Let cool and firm in refrigerator. Slice and bake at 350 degrees until brown. Make a bunch and freeze.
