"HERMAN" STARTER 
1 pkg. active dry yeast
2 c. lukewarm water
2 c. flour

Use large glass bowl. Dissolve yeast in water, add flour. Beat until smooth. Cover with plastic wrap. Leave at room temperature 48 hours -- 2 DAYS

CARE & FEEDING OF "HERMAN":

DAY 1 - use 1 cup of starter give other cup away

FEED - 1/2 c. sugar, 1 c. flour, 1 c. milk

KEEP COVERED IN REFRIGERATOR

DAY 2-DAY 3-DAY 4-STIR-STIR-STIR

DAY 5-FEED AGAIN

DAY 6-DAY 7-DAY 8-DAY 9-STIR-STIR-STIR-STIR

DAY 10-"HERMAN" ready to be used

4 cups----2 c. to bake with, 1 c. to feed-DAY 1

1 c. to give to a friend
