1/2 c. butter
1 (3 oz.) cream cheese
2 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract

Mix well. Chill until firm. Roll out and cut into 2 1/2 inch square, then cut in each corner 1 inch to pinwheel design. Place 1 teaspoon of filling on square, fold up corners.

Filling: 1/2 cup chopped candied cherries and or diced mixed fruit. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sugar.
