CRANBERRY MUFFINS 
3/4 c. fresh cranberries, cut in half
1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. milk
4 tbsp. shortening, melted

Mix cranberries and powdered sugar, let stand while preparing muffin mixture. Sift dry ingredients, add egg, milk and melted shortening all at once. Mix until dry ingredients are moist. Do not beat. Fold in sugared cranberries. Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Makes 1 dozen.
