1 stick butter
1 can cherry or blueberry pie filling
1/2 box yellow cake mix
1 cup chopped nuts

Melt butter in 9 x 9 inch pan; pour melted butter out of pan and reserve; spread pie filling on top of buttered pan. Pour dry cake mix on top of filling, sprinkle nuts over cake layer. Pour reserved butter over nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. If desired top with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
