PIE CRUST 
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/4 c. milk
3/4 c. shortening (1/2 c. lard)

Sift flour with salt and sugar. Cut in shortening until it resembles crumbs, beat egg yolk and vinegar. Blend in milk, then the dry ingredients. Toss with a fork into a soft dough. Divide dough in half and roll.
