BRAN MUFFINS 
2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. molasses
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg, beaten
1 c. Kellogg's All Bran
3/4 c. sour milk (1 tbsp. vinegar to 1 c. milk to sour it)
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. raisins or figs

Soak bran and sour milk with fruit for 15 minutes. Dissolve soda in a little sour milk, add to mixture the molasses, egg, shortening, flour and salt. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
