GINGER BREAD CAKE | |
1/2 c. soft shortening 2 tbsp. sugar 1 egg 1 c. dark molasses 1 c. boiling water 2 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour square pan or 9-inch ring mold. Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, and egg. Blend in molasses and water. Measure flour by dip level. Stir together dry ingredients; blend in. Beat until smooth. Pour into pan. Bake 45-50 minutes. |
