BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE | |
1/2 c. butter 1/3 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 4 c. sliced, peeled apples 1/4 c. sliced almonds Cream first 3 ingredients. Add flour. Spread over bottom and sides of a 9 inch spring form pan. Combine softened cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Pour into pastry. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Toss with apples. Spoon over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce to 400 degrees and bake for 25 minutes; cool. |
