FUDGE NUT CRINKLE COOKIES 
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1/4 c. cocoa
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. chopped nuts
Candied cherries, halved

In large mixing bowl, combine sugar and oil. Add cocoa; blend well. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to first mixture, blending well. Cover; chill at least 6 hours. Shape dough into 1" balls. Roll in chopped nuts. Place about 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Place a cherry on each cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched in center. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen.
