PORK CHOPS AND APPLESAUCE STUFFING | |
4 lg. pork chops 1 (16 oz.) can applesauce 4 slices white bread, cubed 2 med. onions, minced 1/2 c. water 3 oz. raisins 1 tsp. salt 1/2 stick butter Mix together applesauce, raisins, bread crumbs, and salt. Saute onions in butter for about 5 minutes. Add bread mixture to ions and butter over low heat and constantly stir for about 3 minutes (put aside). Brown pork chops on both sides in dry pan. Spread 1/2 of bread mixture on bottom of a casserole. Put 2 pork chops on top of mixture. Spread other 1/2 of bread mixture on top of chops. Put other 2 pork chops on top of mixture. Add 1/2 cup water to drippings in frying pan and pour into casserole with chops. Bake covered at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Recipe may be doubled or tripled easily. |
