BASIC ICING 
2 c. sugar
1/4 lb. butter
2/3 c. canned milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring to boil and (time this) boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Beat with mixer until creamy and loses its gloss. Add 1/2 cup of nuts, if desired. (For Chocolate Icing add 4 teaspoon cocoa before cooking). Spread on cake while icing is still warm.
