MOM'S HOUSE ROLLS | |
2 c. scalded milk 1 yeast cake soaked in 1/4 c. warm water 3 tbsp. butter 6 c. flour 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt Add butter, salt, and sugar to milk. When lukewarm add dissolved yeast and 3 cups flour, beat thoroughly, cover and let rise until light, cut down and add enough flour to knead. Pat and roll out 1/3 inch thick, shape with biscuit cutter. First dip case knife in flour then make crease in each piece. Brush over with butter. Fold and press edges together. Place in greased pan. Cover and let rise. Bake in hot oven 12-15 minutes. Brush with melted butter when taken from oven. |
