My great grandmother handed down this recipe. All of my friends call these crack cookies because you can't eat just one! By far the most requested thing I make! Also it's been my fave desert since I was little! Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Now listen very carefully.
You must make a double batch of these immediately.
Send them to me Overnight express.
Tell the mailman to place them on my doorstep,
and back away slowly. And no one gets hurt.....

I've always liked these and I like to cook.. Want something REALLY GOOD!!! Put Crumbled BACON in the mixture before you spoon them out.. Don't add bacon while its cooking and I let it cool some first.

So easy and no oven needed! Took me 20 minutes from start to finish. Made 3 dozen rounded teaspoon sized cookies. Haven't made these in years! Simply delicious!

My mother in law used to make these chocolate oatmeal no-bake cookies when went to their home to visit. They always smelled great!! I lost her recipe and then a became friends with a sweet lady at church where I went, and guess what she made them too!!! I would call her almost every year for the recipe. It seemed like it always made her feel good that I would call just her. Thank you sharing this recipe, here at Christmas time for my sake!!! )

1/2 cup cocoa is way too much (for me). Chocolate taste way too rich. May try again with 1/4 cup.

 Becky (Nebraska) says:
You can cut the sugar to one cup. They are still plenty sweet enough.

These are great cookies. My Mom used to make them at home & at school where she worked in the school cafeteria. I have a question. Can these be frozen?

This is the only recipe that I have from my Grandma handwritten on a recipe card, and it is my favorite. But I use coconut sugar with excellent results, sometimes I do not add vanilla and they are just fantastic. However good they are I had to stop making them weekly because one day that top pant button just would NOT button and sadly the feast of this glorious cookie has come to an end.

This is the best recipe for No Bake Cookies I've tried. However, I would recommend using 1 1/2 cups of sugar instead of 2. They were a little too sweet for my taste buds. My kids LOVED them though!

To cut calories/sugar/fat etc., I used Splenda instead of sugar, powdered peanut butter (85% reduced fat) and added nuts also. I think they are just as good and a nice treat not to grow by.

I am 63. My great grandmother lived in E. Nashville, Tn. She was making these cookies when my grandmother was a little girl in the early 1900's. My family is still making them and we don't use peanut butter in them. I guess you can add anything you want to them, but I understood from my grandmother they just started out with simple ingredients.

Addes recees pieces and mini chocolate chips. both melted slightly but still gave it fun texture and taste. I missed the mint idea in a previous post, so going to do a batch of those next time. Thanks so much for this recipe. YUMMY
