CHOCOLATE MALLOW PIE | |
1 env. Knox gelatin 3 squares unsweetened chocolate 1/3 c. cold water 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2/3 c. light corn syrup 1 c. cream, whipped Baked pie shell Sprinkle gelatin on cold water in top of double boiler to soften. Place over boiling water and stir until gelatin is thoroughly dissolved. Remove from heat. Pour corn syrup in a large bowl of electric mixer. Add the vanilla and gelatin mixture. Beat on high speed until mixture becomes thick and of soft marshmallow consistency, about 15 minutes. Melt chocolate while the mixer is beating. Be sure the chocolate cools! Fold in the melted chocolate, which must NOT be warm when added to the marshmallow mixture. Fold in the whipped cream. Pour into a baked pie shell. Chill at least 4 hours. Serve with whipped cream. |
