QUICK DONUTS 
2 cups self-rising flour
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 cup butter
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Combine flour, sugar and nutmeg. Cut in butter. In a measuring cup, beat egg; add milk to measure 2/3 cup. Add to flour mixture and stir until blended. Turn out on a floured board and knead just until smooth. Roll and cut with a donut cutter. Fry in deep fat. Drain on paper towels and dust thickly with confectioners' sugar.
