LAYERED VEGETABLE SALAD 
1 head lettuce, chopped
1/2 c. chopped green onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 1/3 c. uncooked frozen peas
1 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. Baco bits
8 oz. can water chestnuts, drained and sliced

In large bowl layer lettuce, onion, celery, pepper and peas spooning mayonnaise on each layer. Sprinkle sugar, cheese and bacon bits on top. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Add chestnuts and toss just before serving.
