LIME PICKLES | |
7 lb. pickles, sliced thin 2 gal. cold water 2 c. lime (in water) VINEGAR SOLUTION: 2 qt. white vinegar 5 lbs. sugar 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tbsp. pickling spices 1 tsp. whole cloves 1 tbsp. salt Combine first three ingredients and let set for 24 hours. Then wash thoroughly several times. Let set in clear cold water for 3 hours. Then put pickles in the vinegar solution and let set for 24 hours; then heat vinegar and pickles together and boil for 35 minutes. Seal in hot jars. Makes 6 quart. |
