MOTHER'S DRESSING | |
1 onion, lg. 10 slices bacon Livers and gizzards from turkey 1 stalk celery, about 5 long leaves from the stalk that are used 1 1/2 lbs. bread, cut in cubes 1/4 lb. butter 1/2 tsp. sage 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1. Run through a grinder the onion, bacon, liver, gizzard. Brown together in large skillet. 2. Grind the celery and add to above ingredients. 3. Gradually over low heat add the bread cubes, butter, sage, salt and pepper. 4. Be sure to add bread over 2 hour period to ensure even browning. 5. This dressing is light and fluffy and simply delicious served with turkey, chicken or pork chops. |
