RAISIN OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 box raisins, ground
2 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. water

Cook until thick, about 5 minutes. Put aside to cool.

COOKIE DOUGH:

7 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening (Crisco)
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs, well beaten
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. milk

Cream sugar and shortening. Add well beaten eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt, soda and cream of tartar. Add flour mixture to milk alternating a little milk, then blend together. Roll out and cut circles using a cookie cutter or drinking glass. Put about a teaspoon of filling on a circle, cover with a second circle. Press down the edges. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
