APPLE TURNOVER 
FILLING:

2 c. cooked dried apples
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. butter

2 tbsp. shortening Enough ice cold milk to moisten

Mix flour, shortening and milk and roll in ball. Pinch off the size of a small egg and roll out. Fill with 2 tablespoons apple mixture. Fold over and cut with saucer. Then seal edge with fork. Fry in hot oil until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
