APPLE CRISP 
BASE:

4 c. sliced cooking apples (4 to 6 med.)
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. granulated sugar

CRUMB TOPPING:

1/3 c. flour, sifted
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sharp cheese, grated
1/3 c. butter, melted
1 c. rolled oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)

Arrange apples and raisins in greased 10 x 6 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with sugar. Combine topping ingredients and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream. Serves 6.

If apples are fairly sweet, decrease sugar.
