BISCUITS 
4 c. flour
4 tsp. bakewell cream (cream of tartar sub.)
1 3/4 c. milk
2 tbsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening

Mix dry ingredients and cut in the shortening. Add milk and flour and stir until well mixed. Pour out onto floured board and knead for about 6 times. Roll out to 1/2" and put into ungreased oblong cake pan. Rub milk lightly on the top. Bake in 475 degree oven for 10 minutes. Turn off oven and continue baking until brown.
