OVEN FRENCH TOAST 
10 slices bread, 1" thick
4 eggs
1 c. half and half
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. mace

TOPPING:

2/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. soft butter
1 1/2 tsp. dark syrup
2/3 c. chopped nuts

Butter 9"x13" pan real good and fill with bread (2 slices high); set aside.

In blender mix eggs, milk, half and half, vanilla and spices. Pour over bread and refrigerate overnight.

Make topping by combining all ingredients; set aside until time to bake, then spread on toast. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes until puffed and golden.
