BAKED CHEESE GRITS | |
6 c. water 2 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. (reg.) grits 1/2 c. butter 1 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese or if you prefer 2 (6 oz.) rolls garlic cheese 3 well beaten eggs Bring water and salt to a boil. Stir in grits, cook until done. Add butter. Remove from heat, add cheese, stir until melted. Add 1/2 cup grits mixture to beaten eggs, stir well. Then stir the egg mixture into remaining grits. Pour into lightly greased 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until slightly firm. Makes 8 servings. Make Christmas morning breakfast or brunch "extra special". |
