WONDERFUL BUTTER CREAM FROSTING 
1 c. homogenized milk, scalded, cooled and skin removed off top
1 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. Crisco
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar, Crisco and butter for 7 minutes (on high), then add 1 tablespoon scalded milk at a time while beating on high. Continue beating on high scraping the sides of the bowl often. Beat until frosting is creamy, approximately 15 minutes, and add vanilla. Enough frosting to spread top and sides of 8 inch cake. This frosting takes time to make but it's "wonderful".
