ITALIAN CREAM CHEESE CAKE 
1 cube butter
1/2 c. oil
2 c. sugar
5 eggs, divided
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 sm. can coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and oil. Then add sugar. Beat egg yolks and add to mixture. Combine flour and soda; add alternately with buttermilk to mixture. Stir in vanilla, coconut and nuts. Fold in beaten egg whites. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Makes three 9 inch layers. Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

2 lg. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 cube butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. box powdered sugar

Cream together cream cheese and butter. Mix in rest of ingredients. Frost cake. Then cover whole cake with coconut.
