4 gal. crock jar 1 bottle rum 1 tsp. whole allspice 1 c. strawberries 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. pitted cherries 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. pineapple 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. chopped apples 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. ripe sliced pears 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. green grapes 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. red raspberries 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. chopped peaches 3/4 c. sugar 1 stick cinnamon 1 tbsp. whole cloves Sliced orange peel Place layers of fruit and sugar in crock. Sprinkle each layer with a little spice and orange peel. Cover with rum. Let stand 6 weeks or longer. This is very good over ice cream. Fruits can be added as they come into season, making sure that after addition, you add sufficient brandy to cover fruit. Always add 3/4 cup sugar to each cup of fruit you eat. |
