CHOCOLATE TOFFEE COOKIE CRUNCH

2 c. crushed vanilla wafers (50)
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/3 c. melted butter
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

For base, combine crushed vanilla wafers, 1/4 cup brown sugar and melted butter. Put into 13 x 9 inch pan. For toffee, combine butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar in sauce pan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Pour over cookie base. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes until morsels are shiny and soft. Spread evenly. Sprinkle walnuts over. Chill and cut into pieces.
