ORIGINAL TOLL HOUSE COOKIES 
1 c. plus 2 tbsp. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter or shortening
6 tbsp. granulated sugar
6 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. water
1 egg
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Sift flour, soda and salt together. Set aside. Combine butter, sugars, vanilla and water. Beat until creamy. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture and mix well. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
