AMERICAN CHOP SUEY 
1 lb. lean bacon
8 lbs. ground beef
6 c. diced celery
3 lbs. noodles or macaroni
5 c. water or gravy
3 qts. thick stewed tomatoes

Cook noodles or macaroni in salted water until tender. Drain. Cut bacon in dice and cook in hot frying pan until it begins to fry out. Add ground meat and stir until brown. Add onions and celery and liquid. Cover closely and cook 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in tomatoes and season to taste. Continue cooking until thoroughly heated. Then add hot noodles or macaroni and serve hot.
