FRUIT CORDIAL 
2 c. sugar
2 pts. ripe fruit
1 qt. vodka

Place sugar in 3 quart glass jar with a lid. Add fruit, then vodka. Cover container. Place in a cool dry place. Each week, stir the mixture. Repeat this procedure for 2 months. Strain the cordial through a fine sieve into a decanter. Yield: 1 1/2 quarts. Suggestions for fruit: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries.
