PENUCHE 
2 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 cup chopped nuts
2 tbsp. butter

Boil sugar and condensed milk slowly until it forms a soft ball when tested in cold water (234-240°F on candy thermometer).

Stir constantly to prevent curdling. Remove from heat and add vanilla, nuts and butter.

Beat until creamy and pour into a greased pan.

Cut into squares when firm.

Cooks Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended.
