PASKA BREAD
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 qt. milk
2 tbsp. salt
8 whole eggs
1 1/2 lg. yeast cakes
1 tbsp. sugar
2 c. lukewarm water
10 lbs. flour (about)

Boil milk; let cool. Dissolve 1 tablespoon sugar and yeast in the lukewarm water and let it raise. To cooled milk add enough flour to make a spongy dough. Beating with a spoon, add salt, butter, sugar, 8 eggs (one at a time) and the rising yeast. Keep beating and adding flour to make a soft dough. Knead with hands until dough is smooth and not sticky. Cover and let it raise. Punch dough down (add raisins, if desired). Raise again. Put into pans. Raise. Brush with beaten egg and bake at 350 degrees for roughly 1/2 hour.
