RICH SWEET ROLL DOUGH 
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. warm water
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1 egg

(Use flour to roll out, just so it doesn't stick to your hands.)

Scald milk; add water, sugar, butter, and salt. Cool to lukewarm, then add yeast, eggs, and flour. Work dough vigorously. Let rise, buttering the top of the dough to keep soft.

Punch down; form buns and let rise until double. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 15 minutes. Makes 2-3 pans of rolls.

VARIATION: Cinnamon Rolls

Roll out dough. Spread with butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Roll up, butter the top of dough, and cut into rolls.
