BLACK COFFEE SPICE CAKE 
Cream 2/3 cup shortening with 2 cups white sugar. Add 3 beaten egg yolks. Sift flour and measure 3 cups.

1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Add 1 cup cold black coffee to sugar mixture, followed by flour and spices. Stir thoroughly, add 1 cup drained cold cooked raisins. Finally fold in 3 egg whites, beaten stiff. Put in 9 x 13 pan, bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. (It stays moist.)
