PEANUT BRITTLE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. white syrup
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. raw Spanish peanuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter

Boil until almost hard ball (240 degrees). Add peanuts and a pinch of salt. Cook to brittle stage (295 degrees) or until it turns golden brown. Add vanilla and butter and mix. Add soda and beat. Pour on large buttered surface to cool.
