BAKED BROWN RICE 
1 c. brown rice
1/2 c. butter
1 (8 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
1 clove garlic
2 tbsp. chives
2 tbsp. green pepper, chopped
1/2 c. slivered almonds
3 c. chicken broth, heated

Melt the butter; add all ingredients except chives and chicken broth. Cook and stir constantly until the rice turns yellow (about 5 minutes). Add the rest of ingredients and bake in a buttered casserole for 1 hour at 325 degrees, covered.
