ENGLISH MUFFIN BREAD | |
2 pkgs. active dry yeast 6 c. unsifted flour 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 2 c. milk 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. water Cornmeal 1. Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt, soda. Set aside. 2. Heat the milk and water until very warm. 3. Add liquids to dry mixture. Beat well. 4. Stir in remaining flour (1 cup at a time) to form stiff batter. 5. Spoon batter into greased and cornmealed bread pans. Sprinkle tops with cornmeal. 6. Cover, let rise in warm place for 45 minutes. 7. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. 8. Remove from pans on rack to cool. |
