CARDAMOM ROLLS 
2 c. milk, hot
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
15 cardamom seeds
1 pkg. yeast
2 c. flour, plus 2 c.

Remove seeds from cardamom and grind fine. Add to hot milk with shortening, sugar, and salt. When lukewarm, add yeast mixed with warm water. Add flour, mix, and let stand 3 minutes. Add additional flour to make stiff dough. Knead 10 minutes. Let rise, about 1 1/2 hours. Punch down, shape into rolls. Place in greased cookie sheet. Let rise 45-60 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Great aroma and flavor! I had a difficult time figuring out how to convert seeds into a ground cardamom measurement (since I didn't have any pods left). I ended up increasing the cardamom to 3/4 teaspoon. It was very good. I also replaced the shortening with butter.
