2 egg whites, beaten Pinch of salt 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 2/3 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. almond extract 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. nuts 1 c. chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg whites until foamy. Add salt and cream of tartar. Beat well. Gradually add sugar. Beat until very stiff. Add almond extract and vanilla. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls on aluminum foil on cookie sheet. Place in oven and turn off at once. Do not peek. Leave overnight. Yield: 5 dozen. |
