PRUNE CAKE | |
3 eggs 2 c. flour 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. allspice 2 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. cooked prunes 1 c. salad oil 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking powder 1 c. buttermilk 1 c. nuts Beat eggs and oil. Add sifted dry ingredients with buttermilk, nuts and cut up prunes. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes in 9 x 13 inch pan. Frost with Mock Cream Frosting. MOCK WHIP CREAM FROSTING: 6 tbsp. flour 1 c. milk Combine and cook until thick, stir constantly. Set aside and cool. Cream the following: 1/2 c. white shortening 1/2 c. butter 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla Add coated flour and milk mixture. Let mixer run for about 10 minutes until sugar is dissolved. |
