ROSIE'S SWEET PICKLES 
25 to 30 sm. cucumbers (sliced crosswise)
2 c. pickling lime
2 gal. water

Mix water and lime in glass, crock or porcelain container. Add cucumbers and let stand 24 hours. Next, rinse well and cover with clear water for 3 hours. Drain well and cover with a solution of :

2 qt. vinegar
8 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. whole cloves
Some cinnamon sticks

Let stand overnight or about 24 hours, then bring all to a boil, fill jars and seal. Ready to eat.
