TURNIP OR RUTABAGA PUFF
This is a huge hit at my holiday dinners, even for those family members who normally do not like Turnip or Rutabaga - they loved this!

6 cups raw turnip
2 tbsp. butter
2 beaten eggs
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. brown sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/3 tsp. pepper
pinch of nutmeg

TOPPING:

1/2 cup dry croutons
2 tbsp. melted butter

Cook, drain and mash turnip. Add butter and eggs and beat well.

In another bowl mix baking powder, flour, brown sugar, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Add the mixed ingredients to the turnip mixture, beat then pour into a casserole dish.

In a separate bowl crush the croutons a little and mix with melted butter then sprinkle over top the turnip.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes until light and fluffy and golden brown.

Note: Will keep in the refrigerator for 3 days.
